Three live oaks. One front yard. Here's what we were working with - trees that needed proper structural pruning to stay healthy and safe long-term. Live oaks are some of the most common and most valuable trees on Fort Worth properties, and they deserve more than a rough hack job.
Our climber went up into each tree using rope and harness, working through the canopy by hand to pull out dead wood, crossing branches, and anything that was creating unnecessary weight or risk. That's the part most people don't see - the careful decision-making happening up in the tree before a single branch hits the ground.
Proper pruning isn't just about looks. It's about keeping the tree structurally sound so it can handle wind, rain, and whatever else North Texas throws at it. A well-pruned oak is less likely to drop limbs unexpectedly, which matters a lot if you've got people, vehicles, or a roof underneath it.
Once the cuts were made, we fed everything through the chipper and hauled it all off. No pile left in the yard, no cleanup left for the homeowner. The property was clean and ready to use by the time we packed up.
A lot of Fort Worth homes are sitting on mature oaks that haven't been touched in years. If that sounds familiar, routine tree trimming is one of the best things you can do to protect that investment and keep your yard looking sharp.
